Thirty Second Challenge

This is a video challenge from Kaka asking you to do as many keep ups as you can in 30 seconds. It's a skill, it's art and it's a great team challenge at the end of your training session.

So get a bit of competition going in your team and give this a go.

The Newcastle Freekick

This is a freekick I first saw in a Newcastle game in 2011. I can't remember the names or the game - if you know please drop me an email.

The ball goes from one side of the wall to behind the other for an attacker to run onto.

Bulldog

This is a football version of the school playground game. One or two play in the middle whilst the others with a ball try to get from one side to the other without being tagged by the player in the middle. If they are tagged then they swap places with the player in the middle and the old player in the middle takes over control of the ball.

The Wrap Around

This video shows you how to do the Wrap Around - that trick used by Ronaldo, Nani and a few others - that allows an attacker to change direction quickly when a defender is running alongside them.

Barcelona - Warm Up

This is a video showing the Barcelona team doing their stretches, and twists and turns. If Barcelona do it - then so should you and your team. Check out what they do, copy it and do it yourself.

Note - no long kicks or shooting. This is all to do with muscles, legs, brains and bodies - and raising the pulse.

Argentina v England Freekick

This is a freekick I first saw during an England v Argentina game probably in the 90's. (If you know the date of the game let me know lol).

As an Englishman, I do not like giving goals away to any team but especially to Germany, Scotland and Argentina - so it was through gritted teeth that I had to applaud this Argentinian goal against England.

Traffic Lights

This is a good exercise for those younger football players who need to practice their turns, ball control, space awareness and are still looking to gain confidence on the ball. Also it could be used a nice team warm up.
